Meet Dr. Tarim Song

At Beaverton Orthodontics, Dr. Song believes every smile is unique and deserves a personalized approach. Your facial structure, jaw development, tooth alignment, and treatment goals are all different, which is why she creates customized treatment plans tailored specifically to each patient. Her philosophy is centered on delivering thoughtful, precise orthodontic care designed for long-term health, function, and confidence.

Education and Professional Training

Dr. Song completed her undergraduate, dental, and orthodontic training entirely at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, making her a proud Triple Trojan. Alongside her orthodontic residency, she earned a Master of Science in Craniofacial Biology and served as a faculty instructor, teaching orthodontics while maintaining a private practice.

Her credentials include:

  • Bachelor’s degree, University of Southern California
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry
  • Orthodontic Residency, USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry
  • Master of Science in Craniofacial Biology, USC
  • Diplomate, American Board of Orthodontics

In addition to board certification, Dr. Song is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Oregon State Society of Orthodontists, Angle Society of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.

This foundation in clinical orthodontics and academic research allows Dr. Song to evaluate not just tooth position, but the full relationship between the teeth, jaws, and facial structure to create stable, lasting results.

Orthodontic Philosophy and Career

Dr. Song strongly believes orthodontic treatment should never be rushed or unnecessary. She does not recommend treatment for every patient who walks through the door. If your goals can be achieved through general dentistry or if it is better to wait for the right developmental stage, she will tell you honestly.

Her patient-driven approach means:

  • Treatment plans are individualized, not standardized
  • Timing is carefully considered for long-term success
  • Appliances are selected based on your specific needs
  • Open communication guides every decision

Dr. Song treats patients of all ages and takes pride in providing gentle, respectful care. She believes orthodontics is not just about straight teeth, but about improving function, facial harmony, and self-confidence.

Families throughout the Beaverton community trust her commitment to ethical care and thoughtful treatment planning.

Personal Life

Outside the office, Dr. Song enjoys spending time with her family and being part of the Beaverton community. She and her highly skilled team love what they do and are passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their orthodontic journey.

Dr. Song is dedicated to making every patient feel heard, respected, and confident from the first visit to the final result.

We look forward to welcoming you to Beaverton Orthodontics.
